Limoncello is a simple liquor that originated in the region of Campania, specifically around the Sorrento area, including the Amalfi Coast. Limonello is made from organic lemons that grow in the region, alcohol, sugar and water.
There are many recipes that you can try and the most common ones use vodka instead of pure alcohol. That’s fine as long as you use a good vodka and organic lemons, and after a few weeks you can enjoy your home-made limoncello.
